Mariah's Middle name is... Drumroll Please...... Katherine Hope! The caseworker just told me..So she has 2 middle names.. So Mariah Katherine Hope is doing just fine.. Actually GREAT!..She is sooo beautiful and getting so big.. at her last doctors appointment she was 7 pounds 5 ounces.. Up from 5 pounds 4 ounces! The Doctors were pleased!! And so was I.. She is getting a little chunkee!! And soo adorable..We had our family reunioin and everyone just LOVED her.. Who wouldn't? They passed her all around to everyone! And she LOVED it!! Although she slept through a great portion on it.. Life is hectic with 4 kids at least that is my excuse for not getting on here and posting a ton more that I planned..She had her first smile Yesterday!! She is the sweetest baby..
The other day, Mark brought the kids in from playing outside and they one by one came in and gave Mariah a kiss as I was holding her.. And no one promted them too! It is soo sweet how they all LOVE her! Well I am done writing for the day.. I have kids to get dressed this morning and a house to clean while the baby is sleeping..Thanks for reading to all of you that are keeping up with Mariah's journey.. We did get a new Caseworker and she is just wonderful.. I LOVE HER! Hope she is with us through this whole process.. They did find mom, but now she is off again and there is no talk about a visit from her yet.. So we shall see.. Just please Pray for Mariah.. that she is able to be where she is meant to be wherever that may be.. Until then she will be the baby of the house and LOVED with ALL OF OUR HEARTS!

Sooo IN LOVE

I am sooo in Love with this little angel.. Mariah is the sweetest baby.. I feel heartbroken for her that her mom had her and just pretty much dissapeared..If you could hold her you would see how precious she is.. and what a GREAT baby she is..She is such a Sweatheart. I CONFESS I AM IN LOVE!!!

Some news...

Caseworker visited today and said there is no news on the mom..But he explained to me that if there is no contact for 6 months they can terminate her rights by abandonment.. He said that he knows the mom and expects to find her anyday now. He said that they are going over to her apartment every other day to try and find her. And if they do find her that is considered contact with the department so they would not be able to pursue the abandonment charge.. He also said that there are 4 other children that she has that are all Malato.. She is white and all of there dads are Black, and that the mom said that Mariah is Malato, because she has never slept with a white guy...And the caseworker said that he is 98% sure that she is Malato.. and he predicts that Mariah will be in our home for 15-22 months before the moms rights are terminated..So by that time she will pretty much be apart of our family... I am nervous about that.. Because I could NEVER let Samantha go now.. and that is what it would be like..She will almost be 2 years old and we are the only Parents and Family she will know.. So if that happens I don't know what would happen.. But my guess is we would have 4 children..lol..Well I just wanted to update the new info on here. Mariah has a doctors appointment on Friday and will be weighed then.. I am excitted to see what she weighs.. She will also be 1 month old!! lol.. She is the sweetest little baby! I will update of Friday her weight and how the doctors appointment goes..

Where is Mom??

Well unfortunatley, there is still no sign of Mariah's Birthmom. They went to her apartment and a new Boyfriend is living there. And said she was at here Moms house visiting.. They have been to the Grandma's House, and Have left her TONS and TONS of Notes telling her to contact the department. Still NOTHING! They have decided when they find her now that they are going to ask her to do the right thing for Mariah and surrendar..but there is still the issue of the Birthdad. They don't know who he is, so they are going to ask her for some names and get some of these guys tested..So that should be interesting...Well as far as our Sweet Mariah goes she is doing GREAT! And I finally think I have her on some kind of a schedule!! lol.. I am a TRUE beleiver in schedules for the childrens sake so they know what to expect as they get older.. and It gives them a sence of security..Well that is all that I have to report for now..So on to LOVING this little angel with all of our hearts and praying for a HAPPY ENDING for her..BOY do I LOVE THIS BABY.. I have been praying for a miracle in the money department that would let us keep her in the end...If that is what is meant to be..Just right now we don't know if we could AFFORD 4 kids.. and she deserves the ABSOLUTE BEST!!! She would definatley be ok in the LOVE department here. No lack of that.. I wish that was all that mattered..and we would keep her in an instant..Also though I have to think of all the people looking for a baby to love, and here is a beautiful one.. I guess it would be easier if I had some say as to where she goes in the end, so I know if she is going to a Good Home..Well so many things could happen...So no more counting those chickens before they hatch for me...Just Praying for our sweet little one!

We had the Inevitable Talk

Well Mark and I had a talk about adoption in case this comes to that with Mariah...and We have decided that it would be selfish to adopt her when so many are waiting for a child to love and we have been blessed with 3 children. We have 3 children who need us and we want to be able to provide them with the best possible life ever...and are not sure we would be able to afford a 4th child...As much as I Love this little Angel that I have been blessed to care for..and there is always a chance that someone else in her family will gain custody of her. So Adoption was a FAR FETCHED option anyways.. But something that Mark and I had to talk about. And get out in the open, our feelings... and I think it is good that we know our limitations.. TRUST ME I WOULD ADOPT EVERY CHILD IF I COULD!! But that is not possible..lol...So we will continue to LOVE her and SPOIL her like our own, while she is here.. And be blessed we were able to enjoy this part of her life with her...and Hopefully if it is meant to be she will get a WONDERFUL Forever Family..She deserves that..or maybe mom will be able to be a mommy to her and get help with the drugs...Whatever her future holds I will always be blessed we have had her in our lives even for just a little while..

Caseworker Visit

The worker went to get Mom for her visit, but she was not there.. The keys were in the door..Mom had admitted to the worker that she had gotten high after they dropped Mariah off at my house.. and the next time the worker came she still could find no sign of her and saw beer bottles covering the floor...Still no mom..

The caseworker just visited.. and he said they still have not located mom.. but they are going to try and contact Grandma, they said she is a nice lady and will want some visits with Mariah..And they said maybe she will know where mom is...He said that Mariah had 3 other siblings that are all living with Relatives..There ages are 3, 6 and I think he said 8...They have 2 possibles for who dad is but they can not pursue them until mom gives her DNA sample too..So they have to find her...and also until she confirms that she slept with them..Soo onward we go...Still no word from Mom! Please say a Prayer for her to be able to see what is important in her life, this Beautiful Baby Deserves a Wonderful Life...

Meet the Star Of This Blog

Mariah was Born on Tuesday May 22, 2007. She weighed 5 pounds 10 1/2 ounces and was 18 inches long....A BEAUTIFUL BABY!!. She came into this world under some sad circumstances...Mom did Cocaine throughout her entire pregnancy and Mom and Mariah both tested positive for Cocaine at her birth..So she was placed in our home as a foster child, on Thursday May 24 , 2007..She was just 2 days old. She has ten fingers and ten toes and is sooo Beautiful..She has light Brown hair, and blue eyes, although they are a turquoise blue, and Dark so not sure what shade they will turn out to be. She had her first doctors appointment when she was 1 week old..She weighed 5 lbs and 1 ounce..And was 18 1/4 inches long..They scheduled her to come back 2 days later for a weight check, and she now weighs 5 lbs and 4 oz..YEAH she Gained!!! She is a Really GOOD Baby...I am thanking God for choosing me to take care of her, even if it is just for a little while..I will LOVE her like she were my own child and protect her while she is in my care..
